Prior to graduating from UMKC law school and joining the legal profession, Susannah spent over a decade employed as an arts professional managing and appraising art collections and buying and selling art and collectibles. She has a Bachelor’s in Art History from Boston College, and a Masters Degree from UMKC in Applied History where her studies focused on the art and history of Native American and Hispanic cultures of the Southwest.  Not many practicing attorneys have this extensive education and professional experience in the art world.

In this way, Susannah’s work as an attorney focusing on estate planning is a natural fit for her background, and her years of work specializing in the arts dovetail seamlessly into this practice area.  As an attorney with Hood Law Group, she happily advises clients on art-related matters and has served on the board of the Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts since 2008.
