As a managing member of The Hood Law Group, Matt Hood is the go-to general counsel for small to mid-size business owners in a variety of areas. Not only does he assist his business clients with all transactional processes and contract issues, but he also helps position their businesses to be prepared and proactive to handle growth and changes they might not have otherwise considered. In short, he consults with them and can advise on things they should do in the present to prevent future headaches and larger problems down the road.
What particularly sets Matt apart is his extensive background in the corporate arena, as he’s previously worked with sales, marketing, IT, legal, finance, and accounting departments. Having managed products that crossed all lines of business, he has a good working knowledge of how all departments interact to be successful and can readily apply this knowledge in his legal practice.
At Hood Law Group, Matt also consults with clients in the areas of estate planning, oversees a team of tax attorneys, and provides business and general civil litigation.
He is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the United States District Court of Kansas. He is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the National Cannabis Bar Association.
Matt was born, raised, educated and still resides in the Kansas City, Missouri area. In his off-hours, you can find him at a Royals or Chiefs game, hiking and camping with his family, hitting the slopes, or taking his very loud snorting pug on a walk.
